THERE were angry scenes outside the Central Law Courts yesterday as supporters of a South-West priest charged with child sex offences antagonised waiting media representatives.
The mother of an alleged victim also confronted Fr Adrian Richard Peter John Van Klooster.
He told her he was not allowed to speak to her. A photographer from The West Australian was obstructed and a television cameraman pushed as they tried to film Fr Van Klooster.
In court, Magistrate Robert Black remanded the matter until today.
Fr Van Klooster, 59, has been charged with nine counts of indecently dealing with a child under 13 and two counts of indecently recording a child under 13. Defence lawyer Robert Mazza said Fr Van Klooster would seek a remand to an election date.
Fr Van Klooster was punched by angry relatives of alleged victims outside Bunbury Magistrate's Court after his first court appearance in February.
Fr Van Klooster was stood down as a parish priest in Bunbury after charges were laid.
