Anger over priest in a clinch

IT IS a common enough scene but this scene from a video has sparked outrage among the Catholic community in Mexico.
The man in the picture is Father Salomon Palma, of Ciudad Cuauhtemoc, in northern Mexico. The woman is his secretary.
Excerpts from the tape were shown this week on television, with press reports saying the video of the 60-year-old Catholic clergyman and his 28-year-old secretary was filmed by the priest himself.
The tape was stolen and initially shown to a newspaper.
Last year, a film about the sexual relationship between a priest and a young church member outraged the Catholic leadership.
Ciudad Cuauhtemoc Bishop Juan Guillermo Lopez said he would not punish Father Palma since the actions took place three years ago. The woman has since moved. -- DEUTSCHE PRESSE-AGENTUR

COMMENT:  MEXICO now takes another turn in the sex-abuse saga of the Churches. Of course, in Christianity as the founders set it up, this might not have occurred, because the priest would not have been allowed to become a clergyman unless he was married and had a well-organised family life.
But in the system overlaid on Roman Catholics of the so-called Latin Rite, this priest has broken the (man-made) vows of celibacy and "perfect chastity," caused also a sin of bad example to the lady, and also set bad example to the faithful. The lady presumably committed sins too.
Note the second-last paragraph also. The outrage was possibly against the PUBLICISING of the sexual relationship, not against the PERPETRATOR.
And the Church leaders blame television, pornographic magazines or "randy" popular singers for leading youth away from Christianity! And they bewail the drift away from marriage towards concubinage!
The bishop has acted true to type! An excuse for not dismissing the "wolf in sheep's clothing" is invented -- "the actions took place three years ago." He hasn't even seen that the priest ought to be punished at least for stupidity! Theologians and others who can give the technical name/s to the sins covering the bishop's inaction are invited to submit suggestions! (Be polite!)
