NEW YORK: A Roman Catholic priest has committed suicide after being accused of sexually abusing a girl two decades ago.
  Police said Father Don Rooney, 48, died of a gunshot wound to his head. He was found slumped in a car in a parking lot in the Cleveland suburb of Hinckley.
  The county coroner ruled the death a suicide.
  Father Rooney had been summoned to appear before officials with the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland on Wednesday [3 April 2002] to discuss allegations that he sexually abused a young girl in 1980.
