Islam not a peaceful religion

IN response to Alan Long "George W the worst terrorist of all" (Community, January 14), you have a sadly misinformed view of Islam if you think it is a coincidence that terrorist attacks worldwide are carried out by Muslims.
  Take the time to contact any international counter-terrorism organ- isation and ask for a list of active terrorist groups they are following. For reference, try the Terrorism Research Centre, ASIO [Australian Security Intelligence Organisation] or the UN [United Nations] Security Council -- over 90 per cent of terrorist organisations today are Islamic.
  The fact remains that the majority of Muslims are peaceful people but their religion is not one of peace.
  Their founder Mohammad wed a six-year-old girl (bedding her at age nine), he burned out the eyes of enemies (Hadith; vol. 1:234), and he stated the majority of people in hell were women (Hadith; vol. 128, 301 vol. 2:161).
  We are all targets, for the Koran states: "No Muslim should be killed for killing a

kafir", kafir being infidel, Christian, Jew, Hindu and so on (Hadith; vol.9:50).
  You might ask if Islam is so bad, why don't people leave the religion? "Whomever changes his Islamic religion, kill him" (Hadith; vol. 9:57).
  Throughout the Koran there are too many references to list here on the use of terrorism and violence against non-Muslims.
  The example you give to [read "of"] Northern Ireland or past wrongdoing of people from other religions are of people violating their spiritual teaching, not fulfilling it.
  If we were witnessing a resurgence in Naziism, we would quite rightly jump up in protest, yet it appears Islam is a protected species in Australia.
  I hope for more free speech and information on the topic so people can understand the real nature of Islam.
  This will also help the peaceful majority of Australian Muslims understand that in our society they cannot be forced to remain part of this religion that has been so damaging around the world.
